Acetate Tow Joint Venture

Acetate tow is a man-made fiber, mainly made of cellulose acetate, and is commonly used in the manufacture of cigarette filters. It is made from natural wood pulp and processed through a series of chemical treatments and spinning processes. It has excellent moisture absorption and filtration properties.

Raw material processing: wood pulp or cotton pulp is subjected to acetylization reaction to produce cellulose diacetate sheets [

Spinning: After dissolution and filtration, the filaments are stretched through a spinning unit to form filaments. After the filaments are discharged from the tube, they need to be oiled to reduce flying waste

Subsequent processing: The curling process forms a three-dimensional structure, and finally dries and shapes them into tows

 

Morphological characteristics: white fiber bundles, single fiber cross section presents a Y-shaped geometric structure
Chemical properties: molecular chain contains 53-56% acetyl, molecular weight 80,000-160,000, soluble in acetone, strong acid and alkali easily decompose ester bonds. Diacetate fiber bundle is a food-grade precision filter material, mainly used to make cigarette filters
Physical parameters: viscosity 20 seconds, moisture content ≤3%, ash content ≤0.1%

 

Tobacco field: as the core material of cigarette filters, a single bundle is often composed of 5,000 filaments with a fineness of 3.33 dtex []
Medical materials: use its biocompatibility to make medical supplies
Industrial use: manufacture cigarette pack transfer coatings, vacuum aluminum transfer films, etc.

It needs to be sealed and stored in an environment with a relative humidity below 60% to avoid direct ultraviolet rays and insects and rodents. During transportation, mechanical extrusion should be prevented from damaging the fiber structure.
