Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a non-ionic, water-soluble, modified cellulose polymer that can be used as a thickener in water-based cosmetics and personal care formulations.
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a polysaccharide derivative with gel thickening, emulsification, foaming, water retention and stability. Due to its non-ionic and water-soluble properties, it is used as a key ingredient in many household cleaning products, lubricants, and cosmetics. It is commonly used as an ingredient in ophthalmic drug formulations (such as artificial tears) and as an adjuvant in topical drug formulations to promote the delivery of hydrophobic drugs.
Products application
It can be used as an adhesive, surfactant, colloid protector, dispersant, emulsifier, and dispersion stabilizer, and is widely used in fields such as coatings, inks, textiles, dyeing, papermaking, cosmetics, pesticides, mineral processing, and oil extraction.
Storage conditions
Temperature control
Suitable storage temperature: 5℃~35℃, avoid extreme high or low temperature environments.
Reason: Too high temperature may cause thermal decomposition or agglomeration of the product, affecting solubility; too low temperature will not directly destroy the structure, but may increase the difficulty of powder fluidity, and it needs to be restored to room temperature when used.
Humidity control
Relative humidity: should be lower than 60%, and the storage environment needs to be dry and ventilated.
Reason: HEC is hygroscopic. If the ambient humidity is too high, the powder is easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate, and may even cause microbial growth, affecting product purity and use effect.
Ventilation and light protection
The storage place needs to be well ventilated to avoid a closed environment; at the same time, it needs to be stored away from light to prevent ultraviolet radiation from causing molecular structure degradation.
