Preventing Mercury Poisoning

    1. Mercury-containing devices should be as airtight as possible, and necessary manual operations should be carried out in exhaust cabinets, and the outlets should have purification devices; iodinated activated carbon, chlorinated activated carbon, manganese dioxide, sodium sulfide, etc. have good adsorption effects on mercury, which can recover mercury vapor and prevent environmental pollution.

    2. Avoid excessively high temperatures in the workplace; the floor, walls, workbench, and ceiling should be made of smooth, non-adsorbable materials; the studio should be washed after work; and a mercury recovery trap should be set up on the floor.

    3. Smoking, eating, and drinking water are strictly prohibited in the workplace; showers and changing clothes should be taken after work; work clothes should not be worn home and should be washed regularly.

    4. Regularly test the mercury concentration in the air of the workplace, find out the reasons for exceeding the standard, and make timely rectifications; regularly carry out health education and popularize knowledge on the prevention and treatment of mercury poisoning.

    5. Seriously carry out health monitoring work and conduct regular health examinations; pregnant women and breastfeeding women should be transferred from mercury-related jobs; and strictly implement relevant regulations on occupational contraindications.
