Filament Count: The number of individual fibers contained in a tow.

Production process
Raw materials
The raw materials of acetate fiber are mainly wood pulp or cotton linters. These natural celluloses are processed into high-purity cellulose and used for esterification reaction.

Esterification reaction
Under the action of acetic anhydride, catalyst and acetic acid, the hydroxyl groups of cellulose are partially esterified to produce cellulose acetate. According to the degree of esterification, it can be divided into triacetyl cellulose and diacetyl cellulose, of which the latter is more suitable for fiber production.

Dissolving and Spinning
Cellulose diacetate is dissolved in acetone to form a uniform and transparent spinning solution, which is then extruded through a spinneret and the solvent evaporated to form a filament bundle by dry spinning.

Bunching and cutting
The spun fibers are treated with oil (to increase flexibility and prevent static electricity) and then bundled. Finally, they are cut or wound according to their intended use to produce tow products of the required specifications.

Post-processing and packaging
After being stretched, shaped, graded and inspected, the yarn bundles are packaged, compressed or wound for storage and transportation according to customer requirements
