High-quality Acetate Staple Fiber Tow

Acetate fiber tow is a continuous fiber bundle made from natural wood pulp or cotton pulp, which is made into cellulose acetate through acetylation reaction and then produced through dry or wet spinning process. It has the characteristics of biodegradability, good thermoplasticity, low static electricity, etc. The single fiber fineness is usually 1.5-5.0 denier, with a porous structure and a large specific surface area.

Characteristics and morphology

Bio-based materials: derived from renewable plant resources

Degradability: Can be decomposed naturally under certain conditions

High specific surface area: porous structure gives excellent adsorption and filtration performance

Tow specifications: single filament fineness 1.5-5.0 denier, bundle width 3-15 mm

Color: Usually white or cream, custom dyeing is available

Process

Raw material preparation
Pulp purification: Wood pulp is bleached to remove lignin (purity ≥ 98%)

Dry spinning (mainstream process)

Dissolution: Cellulose acetate + acetone (solvent) → spinning solution

Spraying: High-temperature airflow evaporates the solvent and solidifies the fiber

Stretching: 3-5 times stretching to increase orientation

Wet spinning

Coagulation bath: methanol/water solution to precipitate fibers

Curling process: Mechanical curling to increase the volume (CPI index ≥ 8)

Oil spraying: improve fiber bonding
