It's odorless, non-toxic white powder, can be dissolved in normal water to form a transparent viscous solution with the properties of Highly Water Retention, Good Thickening, Binding, Distributed Evenly, Suspending, Anti-sagging, Resistance to Cracking/Chalking, Anti- Spatter, Gelling, Good leveling, Colloid protection and Easy workability.
The degree of substitution and modification of substituent, allows the different chemical properties and benefits after alkalization and etherification reactions with Sodium hydroxide, Cholromethane and ethylene oxide.
MHEC is better performance in terms of higher gel temperature and hydrophilicity rely on ethyl substituent groups.
It could be soluble in water to form a transparent solution and widely used in construction and building material, dry mix mortar industry. Like tile grouts, tile adhesive, white cement/gypsum based wall putty, decorative plaster as thickening agent for retaining water and improving constructability.
